Donna's
Dogs
Here's
photos of our family dogs and DALMATIAN.

Below
are some of our foster dogs.
First is a shot of Foster
(aka Fozzie bear, Cujo) and Baron (aka Baby Bear). Note the two
tennis balls beside Fozzie and the "worried old man"
look on Baby Bear's face. Fozzie was the two tennis ball vhamp
- he could carry 2 balls in his mouth and easily and often tried
for 3 occasionally succeeding. Baby bear was shy and poorly socialized,
preferring to hide under by bedside table instead of playing
in the backyard with the other dogs. Fozzie seemed to take Baron
under his wing and reassure him about things that Baron found
scary. "Don't worry about THAT, kid. Relax. Just don't mess
with my tennis balls!" At Golden days these two were the
Odd Couple - Fozzie barking at people and snapping at other dogs
while Baby bear would hide under a chair or curl into a tight
ball in my lap. Both fellows had happy endings, though and I
hear from their adoptive families often. Baron has grown into
a beautiful, self-confident Golden who plays with hisnew brother,
Siggy, a German Shepard, like they were raised together. Fozzie
has a home with no cats, no little dogs and no small children
and is the only dog so he gets all the attention and all of the
tennis balls!
This of Duncan and Dakota. Duncan
was reluctantly given up by his owner who came to the painful
decision that she couldn;t fford to take care of him properly
(Duncan has grass allergies0. Duncan was a high energy, extroverted,
happy-go-lucky, towel shredding guy. I had been fostering Duncan
for about a month when I was asked to take Dakota.Dakota was
an absolute sweetie-pie who, true to Dorothy Dick's prediction,
lasted only one Golden Day. But while both were in residence
at our home, they played non-stop to the great relief of Mozambique,
Grizzelle and Pepper, who were heartily tired of trying to keep
up with Duncan! Duncan had the habit of leaping straight up in
the air with all four feet when he was excited which earned him
the nickname of "Slam Duncan" (not to be confused with
"Air Bud.") I'm sure that many people at Golden Days
remember his performances! After five months, Duncan found the
perfect home with a Labrador retriever as a new brother and a
big fenced yard to play in. Dakota went to a loving family who
already had a Beagle named Cheyenne - talk about good karma!
I recieved a Christmas card from his new owners with a photo
of both Dakota and Cheyeene curled up together on the daughter's
bed. Obviously an excellent environment for Goldens!.
