Down On Golden-Lovers
Artilce
from GRREAT Times Newsletter.
Have you
ever wondered what being a Golden-lover says about you? Is there
something we can infer about others with the same affliction?
Stanley
Coren, author of Why We Love The Dogs That We Do, thinks
so. In an effort to guide people to the breed of dog that best
matches their personality and gender, he has classified dogs
into various dog personalities (based on temperament, lifestyle
and behavioral tendencies) and then created a personality test
for humans. Based on the test results, potential new dog owners
can look up their best choices for a dog with which they can
form a rewarding relationship.
What category
are Goldens in? There is no doubt that the author put Goldens
into the right group: "Friendly, Kind Dogs." These
are dogs who like people and will seek them out and are not excessively
possessive or dominant.
Other
dogs that share this category are all the other Retrievers (notably
the Labs), Bichon Frise, Collies, Spaniels including Cockers,
English Setter, Border and Wheaten Terriers, English Sheepdog,
Brittany, Portuguese Waterdog, and Vislas.
So who
loves "Friendly, Kind" dogs? For both men and women,
the personality type was the same. If you've met many folks from
GRREAT, you already know the sort. They are people who scored
high in the "Warm" category and are described as kind-hearted,
sweet, loving, caring, helpful, and considerate. They offer support
and care to anyone who needs their help.
For us
Golden-lovers, it can be summed up as "nice people like
nice dogs." So if you're looking to meet and hang out with
some warm-hearted and kind folks, I suggest you need look no
farther than SEVA GRREAT. I even suspect they'll like you too!
